But people won’t have $1000 more a month. They would receive Basic Income instead of other welfare payments and instead of some tax allowances.

As to your point about Basic Income using the tax system for ‘targeting,’ that’s basically right. It would do. As you correctly identify, this could greatly help in reducing bureaucracy.

And I think your analysis ought to take into account that nearly everyone can benefit from having a Basic Income system.

The benefits aren’t limited to those people who get a net transfer of cash as a result of its implementation.
