(Plus, I am not “admonishing people for not trusting the professionals.” I do, however, sometimes admonish people for assuming they know better than trained economists, despite never having properly studied the subject themselves, from the ground up.)

My answer to that is: I don’t want people to judge me on my certificates. They ought to be able to judge me on the rationality and reasonableness of my arguments.
