Obviously, there is much subjectivity involved in deciding what people ‘deserve.’ My point, however, isn’t that the market is wrong in its assessments of what people deserve. My point is that the market isn’t usually even attempting to assess what people deserve. It’s mainly just assessing what payment is required to get the job done. And that, in my view, is a different concept from what people ‘deserve.’
