Beware the Trans-Exclusionary Radical Trans Activists

TERFs are Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists. Broadly speaking, they don’t consider trans women to be ‘real women.’ And they want to exclude trans women from women-only spaces.

TERFs are vigorously opposed by trans rights activists, who criticise them for their prejudices and their anti-inclusive attitudes. So it’s deeply ironic that some trans people (and their supporters) exhibit similarly discriminatory attitudes towards other trans people.

Whatever happened to being inclusive?

Bad when you do it. Fine when we do it.

To say someone is ‘trans’ is shorthand for saying they are transgender. And according to Wikipedia:

Transgender people have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from the sex that they were assigned at birth.

Based on this definition, it ought to be extremely obvious that there can be many different types of trans people.

For example, some trans women (or just ‘women’ as some prefer to be called) who were born biologically male, identify as women (i.e. they tell other people they are women) and express themselves as women (e.g. by…
