It is true that some providers may indeed move more towards a monthly-subscription model. However, I think the practice of buying individual games is likely to continue for some time yet.

Also, the central basis of my argument still stands: Even with a subscription model, the industry will be making great savings by not having to pay for retail stores. And selling used games will no longer be possible. So, I still think they ought to be providing some sort of overall price cut.
