I’m not suggesting abolishing markets, of course. But there are things that can be done to mitigate the unfairness of markets, without ending up in some form of tyranny. Here in the UK, for example, we have ‘free’ healthcare for all, paid for out of general taxation — and we don’t regard that as some form of ‘tyranny.’

Overall, though, we seem to be in agreement on the fundamental point of my article: Markets aren’t all that interested in assessing what people morally deserve.
