I’m guessing you’re American.

It’s an odd thing that you often get Americans assuming that articles on the World Wide Web are specifically about The USA, even when there is no suggestion that they are. I rarely, if ever, see anyone else doing that sort of thing. People in other countries don’t generally assume an article is about their particular country, unless the article specifically says it is.

This article isn’t specifically about America. Whether the US economy has suffered from too much intervention is not the point. Some other countries may have done. The USA, to some people’s surprise, it seems, does not constitute the whole world.
