Hi Chris! Thanks for commenting. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying, I’m afraid. Are you basically saying that Basic Income payments will ultimately make their way back into government coffers one way or another, anyway?
You also talk about ‘retained UBI.’ Do you mean UBI payments that people save, rather than spend? If so, then that money is not usually ‘lost to the economy.’ It’s put in a bank and lent out to other people. And even if it was ‘removed’ from the economy by being stuffed in a mattress, that doesn’t present any real problem for the economy. The money supply can be adjusted to whatever we need it to be.
