At $2K it isn’t likely to be a mainstream product, but it will sell thousands of units and that makes it more than merely a ‘prototype.’

And I don’t think I made any claim that Samsung would be relying on ‘magical’ economies of scale. They will simply be exploiting economies of scale as they increase production. But yes, it may be some while before folding screens become mainstream and thus Samsung can ‘fully’ exploit economies of scale.
