There are some popular sites and pages on the Internet that list, name and explain some of the most ‘popular’ (or should I say, ‘frequently used’?) logical fallacies. The ‘Ad Hominem Attack,’ the ‘Appeal to Authority’ fallacy and the ‘Straw Man Fallacy’ are amongst the most well-known fallacies listed on these sites.

Perhaps the emergence of these fallacy sites is a reflection of the frequently very poor…
